Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

Growl by Ray Wiley Hubbard. This sounds like the essence of alt. country!
Wait until you hear his new one, A. Enlightenment, B. Endarkment (Hint: There is no C), coming in January 2010! I've heard about 1/2 of it. He just keeps getting better and better. I'll be reviewing it here soon.
It's one that I want to buy. Just haven't had the chance yet. Heard him for the first time last year.
"A Friend of a Friend" by The Dave Rawlings Machine has been on continuous loop in my house this week.
Same here. Exceeded expectations which were pretty high.
Really good - just heard it last week. Really like "Ruby" - want to buy it now!
I'll leave my Rhapsody Unlimited player going all night w/dozens of 2009 albums cued up. Two days ago, I woke up to Roman Candle - Oh Tall Tree in the Ear. That is a fantastic way to wake up, can I just tell ya? So, it's been my favorite album of the week. I think it's quite possible that experience has pushed OTTinE at the top of my Best Album of 2009 list.
Danny Barnes - Pizza Box
Thanks for the pepperoni.
Wrinkle Neck Mules Let the Lead Fly, probably because I waited for it for a long time.
That and Po' Girls Deer in the Night- I am stuck on them right now as I just saw them recently- great show
Merzbow - 1930
Drive-By Truckers -- Live From Austin TX
It has taken me a while to open up to D-BT and boy am I catching up.
