Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

That would have to be Deer Tick
Todd Snider's The Excitement Plan...great story about Doc Ellis (song #3)...
Anything by Vasen...
The Brooklyn Side by The Bottlerockets
Love it. Need to go back to listen to it right now.
Phil Lee - "So Long, It's Been Good to Know You." He manages to kill off 36 people in the first two songs!!!
Been in Australia the past 2 weeks so I've been listening to:
the motifs - away
downhills home - the wolves in the woods
amaya laucirica - sugar lights

Downhills are in the Americana mode; the other two are indie.

I went to see the motifs last night on the way to the airport. Hoped to catch 40 minutes of them but they had equipment problems and so I got to see 2.
This week it has been The Best of the HighTone Years.................Buddy Miller
Green on Red - Here Come the Snakes
...nice to see Green on Red mentioned....."no free lunch" , "gas food lodging", and Danny & Dusty
are favorites....
The Handsome Family - Honey Moon
Great album....probably their best I think. The last four tracks are super, in fact I think I'll listen to it now!!Saw them live a few months back, always entertaining.
