Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

I rarely get a chance these days to listen to albums properly, but this week I've been putting on Neko Case's latest, Middle Cyclone. She does what she does well.
Great Lake Swimmers - Bodies and Minds. And Lost Channels. GLS are so soothing and I've been having a crappy couple of weeks. Keeps me from strangling people.
Hitchhike to Rhome..........Old 97's
Nice. I love this album. I had a friend who lived in Rhome when I was growing up. Old 97's sound like home to me.
Gonna hafta go with "Born on Flag Day" by Deer Tick. i 'm finding new, intriguing details with every listen. This record is part country, part psychedelia, part folk, part rock, but all good. Especially love "Friday XIII" a jaunty country duet w/ fellow Rhode Islander Liz Isenberg. Fun!
Thanks for Deer Tick. Liked your description, went out and bought it and your right , it's great.
I am totally crushing on Begonias by Caitlin Cary and Thad Cockrell. The mp3s were getting dusty, so I put them on my iPod the other day. Really enjoying a revisit.
I adore that CD. Something so relaxed about it. Like two friends harmonizing around a campfire.
Hey Everybody. I'm brand new around here.

Still can't stop listening to Drive-By Truckers Brighter Than Creations Dark
Also, the new Cracker album.

Eric
Devon Sproule 'Don't Hurry for Heaven'. What a talent! Superb live.
I just cannot stop listening to Whiskey Angel by The Black Lillies - it is the new band fronted by Cruz Contreras (the CC from Robinella and the CCstringband) and features members of the everybodyfields, as well. I can't pick one song that is my favorite . . . the whole CD is just fabulous.
It's a tie - 'Horehound' by The Dead Weather (Jack White turns out to be quite a drummer - Who knew?) and 'Under the Covers 2' by Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs (the Deluxe edition!). You couldn't have two more different CDs - one dark & gothic uber-blues and one light and hippie pop rock. And I'm still listening to John David Souther's new CD almost every day - When I put it on within two minutes everyone is asking 'Who is that?' Then they all say 'This is great!'
