Doesn't have to be a great revelation. Doesn't have to change the year in music. Could be old. Could be new. Just has to do it for this week. So what is doing it for you this week?

Marc, Carrie has been generous enough to allow her performances to be openly recorded and shared. There are many live recordings of Carrie posted on Live Music Archive. Here's one:

Thanks for the information Mike!
Anything and everything sung / played by Kristen Ward:

My daughter bought me the "Roll me On " album and I have progressed through "Drive Away" to "Charles" all by myself....I will shut up now !!
Best wishes to all that love their music...

Just been listening to Crooked Still's new album "Some Strange Country". It's an absolute beauty and destined to be my no. 1 album of 2010. Wonderful rendition of old and new classics, including a Rolling Stones number. Highlight of the album though, "Calvary" and "The Golden Vanity".
this week's list includes-
The Avett Brothers-"I and Love and You"(I have "Four Thieves Gone"which is good but this latest album is even better!!Only just released on this side of the pond and now I finally realise what the fuss was about)
Dave Alvin-"King of California"
The Dream Syndicate-"The Days of Wine and Roses"
Gretchen Peters-"Trio"
PJ Harvey-"The Peel Sessions(see Declan I thought I'd take your advice and I picked this one out because it contains a Rainer Ptacek cover)
Brendan - An adverturous PJ Harvey choice there. Very impressive!

Jury's out on The Avett Brothers here.. will give it a few more spins and report back
Agree with you there. I got it based on recs from people whose opinion I value. It's good but it's not quite THERE.
Dream Syndicate Great Band
" A Little Piece of Dixie " ... Blackberry Smoke.
Just bought The tallest Man on Earth - Wild Hunt

It continues to grow on me once I get over the unusual voice
I heard him last week after seeing a review in Rolling Stone - I liked it.
