Top Five Songwritwers

One Thing I've come to Realize is that when you ask someone to name the top five songwriters of all time they might have a few the same but none have all the same. I want to know some peoples thoughts. My top five are:

1.Hank Williams SR.
2.Bob Dylan
3.Kris Kristofferson
4.Townes Van Zandt
5.Guy Clark

There sure are a lot of great songwriters - did I miss anyone mentioning Robert Johnson. Or Robbie Robertson

Don't start me on Robbie Robertson - all those classic The Band tracks that he wrote all by himself - yeah right .

I agree with names like Dylan ,Lennon,Ray Davies.I feel the best writer the past 30 years has to be Paul Westerberg.Along with Iggy Pop these are my 5 favourite artists of all time.

Prine, Van Zandt, Parsons, Dylan. What about Paul Overstreet? Great Writer. Mike Henderson, Guy Clark, yes. I really think Gillian Welch get overlooked a little bit. Oh yeah, Taylor Swift. Haha...
