Please step in.

Here is how this works: Surely there are skeletons in your closet of musical fandom that you are aware of.

This thread is where you let the healing begin.

Let it all out.

Admitting to the shame is the first step to making it all better.

I'll start.

I am deeply ashamed to admit that I am more familiar with Bob Geldof's Deep In The Heart Of Nowhere than I am with Bob Dylan's Blood On The Tracks. I understand that this is scandalous and unacceptable and should have been rectified a long time ago. In my defense, I can say that I am not fond of Geldof's effort in the least. I just happened to purchase it in high school and spent a summer mowing lawns while listening to it and trying to figure out if it was any good. It really isn't, but I have a certain soft nostalgic spot for those lawn mowing days.

Further in my defense, I may say that "Idiot Wind" is one of my favorite Dylan tracks and that I believe that it leads off Blood On The Tracks, but I am not entirely certain (and further to my credit, I am not turning around and pulling it off the shelf to cheat). [EDIT: I checked - boy, was I wrong. Side A: Track #4 - will begin further penance.]

While I understand that I had a musically misspent youth which rapidly moved into a busy adult life full of responsibilities, I realize that this particular situation should have been rectified long ago.

The first step is acknowledging the problem.

I am on the road to recovery.

OK - Who's next?

alright here it goes! it has to be listening & dancing to michael jacksons thriller with my best friends wife and her 17 year old girlfriend. of course there was copious amounts of wine! save me!
I have been a fan of Johnny Rivers since 1964, and have almost all of his albums on CD or LP. Still like him, too.
Ah hell, we're not s'posed to like Johnny Rivers either? Trying to be cool is a real pain in the ass.
LOL. Well, Johnny was always good, but I'm not sure he was ever cool. But I don't really care.
I love Johnny Rivers and he was cool..albeit in 1967 or so.
what's not to like about Johnny Rivers? me too.

Poor Side Of Town - loved it then and now

Wow. Here goes... Avenging Annie, by Andy Pratt (check it out!) is STILL one of my favorite songs. I do have admittedly eclectic tastes, but this one song STILL gives me goosebumps after, what, 36 years? Pure pop production. Nothing else like it. Or is there? Anybody? I want something else like it, and I want it now...

btw, the you tube version blows. It's all about the original (overproduced) single... which, unfortunately doesn't seem to be available for free download or stream. Here's the wiki....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avenging_Annie

Whew. Glad I've admitted it. Now I have to go listen to it AGAIN...
Avenging Annie is one of my favorites, too. Great song, totally unlike anything else from its time. Pratt's later album, Resolution, is also quite amazing; mature, ambitious pop music for intelligent adults.

Anyone know what became of Andy Pratt?
Andy's on MySpace and still makin' good music.
Three letters: ELO
I saw M Jackson during his thriller tour : ( And Bon Jovi for the slippery when wet tour : ( To my defense I was only 10.
