Got to see both wilco and jays during "alt-rock" week in Vancouver... RE Kyla's comment - definitely one was past, one is future. I also did not feel a spark from The Jays - my own fault for having such high expectations - back in the day they played with a bit more feocity, but I should allow them to grow old and mellow a bit. I loved hearing those old tunes, despite being too close at the commodore for a good mix. Saw both UT and the Jays open for Soul Asylum way back when, and seeing both Wilco and the JH's in the same week was a real treat. The 90's were fun, and I went to see the Jay's to get some of that back I guess, but Wilco is a current-day trasure to be savored no doubt. If I had to choose I would probably have taken Wilco. But let's see, the Son Volt tour is ramping up soon, is it not...?
