I almost wore out my copy of "Long About That Time", a CD put out in 1995 by The Delevantes. I ran into Bob Delevante today, and got the opportunity to gush about how much I loved that record.
Do yourself a favor, and check them out!

His last solo record was fabulous too. Easily album of the year for me when it came out a few years ago. I miss those guys bigtime.
Agreed his two (?) solo records are superb....
I agree. Both Delevantes albums are excellent. I've always thought "Blessing in Disguise" is a near perfect song.
I've met Bob a few times, the last being at the Neil Young gig at the Ryman back in June. Have to agree the Delevantes records were superb, that first one an absolute masterpiece. His solo work is also mighty fine with the last, "Columbus & the Colossal Mistake" another gem in his cannon.
If it were possible to wear out MP3 files, I would have long since worn out Columbus & the Colossal Mistake. An absolutely fantastic album. Is there any word about whether he's doing a new album?
I didn't ask him about new music. I work for a stagelighting company, and we are lighting a show this weekend in which Bob is displaying his photography. It's every bit as good as his songwriting. Of course, I had to take advantage of the opportunity to give him a copy of my latest CD.
I talked to Bob again today. He said he's working on some new music, but it didn't sound like there was an album getting ready to happen any time soon. I told him that some folks on here had mentioned Columbus & The Colossal Mistake. He gave me a copy. He seems like a very nice guy.
I feel the same way about 1997's Postcards From Along the Way, and still find myself humming "My Daddy's Cadillac" with surprising regularity.
