Kinda just moved to the Ottawa area. Any NDers in this area that might wanna go for a beer?
Any fans of the Black Sheep Inn?
Or: any bobcats?
Permalink Reply by Caoimhe Hughes on February 2, 2012 at 6:46pm Of course. All three. I am a musician, Celtic origin. Intriguing post, actually. Why did you move to this area? A bit curious.
Permalink Reply by craig grant on February 3, 2012 at 8:39am been here since sept. but found a place in dec. still in the process of unpacking, but almost there. as for why, well, my bucket list is to live in every major and some not so major canuck cities before i die. done vancouver, nelson, saskatoon, regina, t.o., kingston, and now ottawa. or: until i find the city that i synch up with totally. given the amount of ice i've had to scrape this winter - most ever! - don't think this is a city i'd want to grow old in. my dad broke his hip on ice, in his late 70s. did not seem to be a fun experience from my angle.
Permalink Reply by Caoimhe Hughes on February 3, 2012 at 12:27pm Synch up with a city? Huh.
Permalink Reply by craig grant on February 3, 2012 at 1:08pm Yeah. All synched up. Kinda like the way I felt that perfect summer day when I walked down the railroad track by the lakefront on Wakefield and then went to see NRBQ Arbuckle at the BSI. Lookin' for that. Oh, wait.
Permalink Reply by craig grant on February 3, 2012 at 8:42am what instruments do you play?
Permalink Reply by Caoimhe Hughes on February 3, 2012 at 12:30pm Why multiple? I think being an NDer you'll be disappointed I don't play guitar. I sing, mostly. And do keyboards. With such an Irish sounding name and look one expects a stringed instrument of some sort probably, but no.

Permalink Reply by Caoimhe Hughes on February 2, 2012 at 6:48pm It's the "kinda just moved" that struck me. Are you moved here, really? :)
Permalink Reply by craig grant on February 4, 2012 at 6:24am when I look at the weeks ahead roster at the BSI, ch, one name jumps out, Gretchen Peters. Think her Dark Angel song is my favourite new song of ought 12 so far.

did you make it to the Dead of Winter fest at the BSI last year?
Permalink Reply by Caoimhe Hughes on February 4, 2012 at 7:10am Thank you for the vids. Do you have a thing about Celts or something? I am probably more of the Stevie variety. I can't reply fully as my day is packed, plus stayed up half the night working on a new song. Struggling. But, like the chorus: Why don't you climb inside my empty heart, and pray for rain, pray for rain--the drought was bad, but you were all I had, I'll never know why you lied to cause such pain." Ever tried song-writing? Your posts seem as though you've good command of words. I will check out Gretchen Peters.
Permalink Reply by craig grant on February 4, 2012 at 9:46am Hmm. love the Celts. cannot elucidate more than that, given that many - or, at least, 2 - a bored NDer would also be privy to such scandalous & prurient detail. (This is why I sent you the 'friend' request.....)
On the spectrum, then, would you be closer to Stevie, or....., say, Patty Griffin? Not that it matters a whit, of course!:^) jus' lookin' for someone to have a beer with! or a cuppa tea. or whatever.....
but, given the nature of your name - apparently it means 'beauty?..... boy, if so, your parents gave you a lot of pressure from the word go - ah, well, just curious. and is it pronounced..... 'KeeVa'? or......? wikipedia says it's the fem equiv of Kevin..... & the 17th most popular girls' name in Ireland.....now....
so are you on youtube?
even I'm on youtube.
maybe, thanks to my 'command of words'...... (thanks, see-aithch.....)
lemme gather together a couple links.....
