Name artists who you think deserve wide recognition...please!

Simple and clearer?
Hope so...
Names bands that might not be well known globally or even nationally, but you love them!
And if they have a myspace or something let us know....here's a few

John Miller and His Country Casuals
Tom Armstrong
Misisipi Mike
Natalie Edelson
Miss Leslie and Her Juke Jointer
all on myspace...

Jim Moulton gave me three ...all bluegrass, I think:
I have to check them out:

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! And Yes!

I know that four of these artists mentioned have recently released new work. Worth revisiting.

Shameless self-promotion here (but if I don't do it nobody else will!) and I guarantee these are 'unknowns'...
Kurt Mahoney and the Blue Rose Band (americana/roots rock/country-latest release features Rick Shea, Greg Liesz, Norm Hamlet (Merle's steel player) and Joe Terry (formerly of Dave Alvin's Guilty Men)

Roots Foundation (reggae-and NOT Sublime-ish)

Jeffrey Foucault: I love the guys voice, and he's a really good songwriter...if you like melancholy...(and I do)

Hey, good call there Lowell. Just turned me onto his stuff. Really dig it.

Gerry

Ponderosa, a great Southern rock band from Georgia. I saw them open for Shooter Jennings back in September and may go see them again on Saturday with Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights, an old school-styled rock band I hadn't heard of.

Just saw GBMojo at the Eureka Springs, AR. folk festival, and thought the duo was awesome! They surely deserve wider recognition. Here's their home page link: http://www.gbmojo.com/home.cfm
I couldn't agree more ~ Bekah Kelso & Ginger Doss the duo that make up GBmojo are beyond phenomenal. Their CD's, personally produced, sound as professional as any other seasoned artists. These girls are already making their mark and doors need to be opened for them.

An afternoon or evening listening to GBmojo live or on CD in the company of a special someone makes for a most memorable occasion.
