Don't know why but today I flashed upon memories from long ago.  I moved to Missoula, Montana in 1970 to go to the school of Forestry at the University there.  Drugs and whatnot changed all of that.

This was during the time that urban legend had it that the son of the Sundance Kid...or maybe it was Butch Cassidy... was alive and living in one of the skid row hotels in town  and I was living up Pattee Canyon in a one room cabin next to the creek.  Old old bars with names like Eddy's Club, The Turf, Stockman's and the one up by the railway station where the Native Americans like to drink at...I don't remember that name although I lost my virginity from an encounter in that place.

Along comes Mission Mountain Wood Band and it's blend of Montana country, rock and bluegrass.  Each of their performances was not to be missed and everything else would be set aside the day of and often times the day after.

Any one else out here around during those days?  Or maybe I just needed to write this to write this.

I saw The Mission Mountain Wood Band several times when I lived in Eastern WA in the 70s.  Excellent country-rock band.   Too bad 3 former members died in that Montana Band plane crash.  I gave some thought to going to the survivors' annual festival in Whitefish with Poco and Pure Prairie League last summer.
