I beg a favour - Vote Elvis!!

The 2009 European Cajun and Zydeco Awards are upon us - my band are nominated in three categories - visit http://www.cajunweb.de/award/2009/2009-en.htm and vote for Elvis Fontenot and the Sugar Bees in the "Best Zydeco band" category, as well as Paul Asher in the "Best Accordion Player" category and Nick Barber (that's me...) in the "Best Rub-board player" category.

I will be eternally grateful and promise to buy alcohol for any board members I meet, should we win...!!

Thank you for anyone who voted for us - we won European Zydeco band of the Year 2009 - our accordionist, Paul Asher was runner-up in the Cajun Accordionist category and I won rub-board player of the year 2009....!!

It's a pity there isn't a big money prize, but it's a good one to drop into conversation...!

Only came across this blog now, loved your shows at Kilkenny this year and last year, Sunday night at Paris Texas ended the weekend on a high ........ hope John invites you back in 2010... keep on rubbing!!

Cheers Declan - keeping our fingers crossed that we'll be back next year. There's a chance we may be in Cork in the Autumn too, but that's only at the discussion stage at the moment.
