Kevin Pakulis, Tucson, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah"
Anybody Goin' to San Antone - Doug Sahm
Well, there is: My Hometown by Bruce Springsteen - http://www.brucespringsteen.net/songs/MyHometown.html
Half of the Drive-By Truckers' songs are about their old north Alabama stomping grounds - from Buttholeville to most of Southern Rock Opera.
David Picco (of Jetset Motel) has a song called "Hometown" - it's one of my favourites of his.
And I always have liked BR5-49's "Chains of this Town" - not sure if Chuck is singing about Lawrence though, you'd have to ask him. But, I love the cantina sound and lyrics.
Chicago songs by Steve Goodman:
Go Cubs Go
Lincoln Park Pirates
A Dying Cubs Fan's Last Request
Even City of New Orleans was written about his train rides from Chicago to and from University of Illinois.
I love "Home Town" by Joe Jackson from his Big World album...
Charlie Robison's "My Hometown" has become a Texas anthem.
Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown) - "Jacksonville Skyline" "My Hometown"
Lucinda Williams' "Lake Charles"
Here's one I wrote on returning to Prince Albert, SK in the fall of '07 - the video was recorder for "Urban Rush" television.
