Give a drummer some props, then give 'em all a bit of ribbing with your favorite drummer joke.
for example:
This is a bit far afield from alt-country, but I love this clip of Joey Baron, who is an incredible drummer:
BTW . . . how do you tell if the drum riser is level?
The drool runs out of both sides of the drummer's mouth.

Wow, thanks so much for this clip. I love Joey Baron's drumming. As a former (but not good) drummer, the first thing I hear is always the drums, and poor or even mediocre drumming inevitably ruins the music for me, no matter how good everyone else in the band might be. This is an increasing problem with the music that loosely falls into the ND framework.
Permalink Reply by T Hanssen on June 22, 2011 at 7:21pm I feel a bit of the same way. While the music doesn't get ruined for me if the rhythm section is mediocre, when it is really clicking it is very noticed by me and appreciated.
I can go see Wilco and watch Kotchke the whole night.

Q: What do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend?
