I go all the way back to AM stations and transistor radios. Eventually moved up to FM on a quadraphonic system (remember the original surround sound?). Now I have apps on my trusty Droid that sounds a lot like my old transistor radio (only it locks up all the time). But, geez what a crazy amount of places out there to listen to music. Would love to hear where other like minded music junkies get their fixes from.
My mainstays are:
FM: Local Triple A fav 91.1 "The Globe" http://globeradio.org
Internet: www.radiofreeamericana.com
Satellite: SiriusXM - Ch. 28 The Spectrum, Ch. 56 Willie's Roadhouse, & Ch. 61Blugrass Junction
Plus Pandora from time to time, and recently getting into Spotify (free version) more and more as well.
It's a Brave New World out there with a lot of great new music - you just have to look real hard to find it.

Permalink Reply by Frederick Kiemle on December 7, 2011 at 12:41pm Lala was the perfect streaming music site, but of course Apple killed it. Rhapsody is great for keeping an MP3 player loaded. MOG and Rdio fill up my computer time with music. I love the alt country channel on RadioIO.
Permalink Reply by David Moss on December 7, 2011 at 8:45pm What are people's favourite Radio Stations? Radio Heartland in Minneapolis is great - no commercials, little talking, just great MUSIC.

Just discovered a new station today. Totally by accident too. I'm in the process of relocating to the east coast and today's rental car at the airport was tuned to WTMD http://wtmd.org/ out of Baltimore - and they were playing Gary Clark Jr.'s "Don't Owe You A Thang," never did tune into Sirius It's an NPR station with smart phone apps.
Is there an iRadio app for droids?
Permalink Reply by David Moss on December 8, 2011 at 7:08pm Thanks Eddie. I just punched WTMD into iRadio and now am listening to Baltimore radio on my iPhone sitting here at work in Byron Bay, East Coast Australia...great station.
Any others?
Permalink Reply by Christopher Johnson on January 7, 2012 at 3:28pm I listen to The Loft Ch 3o on SiriusXM. It has the best mix I've found anywhere. It also inspired me to start my own internet radio station BlueRootsRadio. Currently I do one show a week. Each show is 7 1o-song sets and runs between 4.5 and 5 hours. Updated every Friday night. Sometimes I go live when the muse moves me usually early on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
I'm licensed with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. You can find me at Live365 under Adult Album Alternative and at my website where you can launch a popup player or go to my Live365 station page. At the website you can see prior playlists and the artists featured on this week's show which this week happen to be:
Al Green • Alison Krauss and Union Station • Ani Difranco • Ariana Gillis • Arlo Guthrie • Audra Mae and The Almighty Sound •BeauSoleil • Bee Gees • Bell & Shore • Ben E. No commercials and no requests for funding it's a labor of my love of music. There's 2 kinds of music. I tend to play the good kind.
Permalink Reply by Jack S on January 12, 2012 at 9:25pm Check out WDVX out of East Tennessee. You can listen on the computer streaming Americana 24 hours. It covers a pretty broad range of Americana from old time country and bluegrass to many newer Americana artists. They have live performance broadcasts, as well as studio recorded music.
