Most every record that got more than a few spins on my turntable in some way changed my life, or at least my listening life.......top five in no set order

John Stewart "California Bloodlines".......John paints his picture of of the west coast and made this Minnesota boy think outside the midwest. "July you're a woman" is still one of my all time favorites

Waylon Jennings "Honky Tonk Heroes" Waylon covers early Billy Joe Shaver and sets the stage for generations to come.

Steve Goodman "Somebody Elses Troubles", "High and Outside" Steve"s cover of "The Dutchman" can still put a lump in my throat. "Just Lucky I Guess" with the late Nicolette Larson is an awesome celebration love song.

Grand Funk Railroad "Closer to Home" Classic rock radio has ignored these boys from Flint Michigan, but early FM didn't.....8 minute cuts were awesome.

Jerry Jeff Walker "It's a good nite for singing".......the Gonzo Band and some awesome writing from his pals make this out of print disc a classic road house must.....and the ultimate hitch hiking song...."Stoney"
