Crosby Stills Nash & Young-´Deja Vu
oh, yeah! that joni mitchell drawing is perfect. classic in so many ways. great album too.

"Deja Vu" always wins, hands down. From the wonderful gold leaf print work to the stick-on black & white photo. Classic.

It wasn't always just about the outer cover, take the middle open out album spread of The Allman Brothers band "Eat A Peach". "GP" with the lorry and it's hay bales. There are so many great covers and inners and it's an artform that has largely been lost due to the scaling down with cd jewel case designs, although some of the work on digipaks almost replicates the good old days :-)

some favorites:

Good call on the 'Mats record.

I'm a big fan of Porter Wagoner's album covers.

Here are a couple of my faves from Armand Schaurbroeck Steals
Pre-CD world-
Neil Young- American Stars and Bars
(or maybe On the Beach)

Post-CD world-
Steve Earle- Jerusalem
(or maybe Trancendental Blues)
The Who - Who's Next
Sweetheart of the Rodeo, but then i am biased =D
Peggy, Nice one! I hadnt thought of it. Has to be one of the best by a mile.
Sonny Boy Williamson- Down and Out Blues
