I want something twangy but fast. Uncle Tupelo and Slobberbone, The Gourds and Two Cow Garage type stuff, but fast, fast , fast. Like a Hoedown on meth.

The Sadies live album; maybe more cowsurf than cowpunk but with short fast tunes they may fit the bill

I don't know if I would classify them as fast, fast, fast or twangy but you should check out Rank and File and Rubber Rodeo. Rubber Rodeo was a Boston based band in the early 80's and you can find them on Itunes. Their version of Jolene is probably my favorite version of the classic song that so many artists have covered.
