Hi folks,
For some reason, a friend of mine has this INSANE idea that I should book his singer sonwriter/americana tour. I've definitely booked tours before, but they were for punk rock bands. So, I was hoping I could get some input from you guys.
He's a relatively unknown singer songwriter who doesn't mind not making much money provided he can get exposure at clubs, press, radio and record stores
Can anyone give me some suggestions for the below cities?
Thanks so very much in advance for any/all help!
Phil
Charlotte
Asheville
Knoxville
Nashville
Louisville
Cincinnati
Indianapolis
Chicago
Ann Arbor
Detroit
Cleveland
Columbus
Pittsburgh
Morgantown, WV
Charleston, WV
Charlottesville, VA
Richmond, VA

they have a main stage/club room and a separate more intimate sidebar room.

Permalink Reply by Matthew Francis Andersen on April 6, 2012 at 9:30am suggest to bill fitzgerald that the show be performed in the sidebar music room with one or two more great local singer-songwriters from the fitzgerald's base, such as robert mcshane.
Permalink Reply by craig grant on April 10, 2012 at 5:11am the black sheep inn, in wakefield, quebec, about half an hr north of ottawa. http://www.theblacksheepinn.com/ beautiful little, well, hippie town, guess you could call it. all the artists talk about how happy they are to play there, in such a reverent venue. it's like a church, in terms of audience attentiveness. no chatter, no drunken yahoos. saw oh susanna there a few weeks back, perfect cry in yr beer music. catherine mclennan - her awesome rendering of her dad's bazillion selling "Snowbird" brought beery tears to my eyes, @ the 'Dead of Winter' fest..... all exemplary musical listening experiences. before walking through those doors, thought the tractor tavern in seattle was cool, once upon a time. antone's in austin..... but they don't hold a flickering candle to the black sheep inn. if you're touring, since you're in the area, might as well do the branch texas grill, an hr south, in kemptville, ontario. never been there yet - just new to the area - but plan on doing so soon.

Permalink Reply by spil on April 10, 2012 at 12:12pm not sure how big of a venue you're looking for. in indianapolis you might try the irving theater on the eastside of town. there is a coffee shop around the corner, lazy daze, that has music frequently. lots of other venues in town. these just happen to be in my neighborhood, irvington. oh, and i know the owners of both.
