I'm looking for some good alt. country/Americana dvds. Any suggestions?

I have these:
Old 97's (live)
Tift Merritt (Austin City Limits)
Wilco (I Am Trying to Break Your Heart)
Son Volt (Austin City Limits)

I'd love to pick up some other good ones.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. Much appreciated. I'm going to have to take a look at some of the Gram Parsons dvds out there.

I did just recently see Heart of Gold and enjoyed that as well. Forgot to mention that I have "The Last Waltz" by The Band, which I love.

How about the Josh Rouse dvd? (Not really alt. country, but still interesting to me.)
"Festival Express" is an outstanding documentary about a coast-to-coast-by-train Canadian tour that took place in '72 or 3. Early seventies anyway and it featured The Band, Janis Joplin (so it must have been '70, now that I think of it), Ian+Sylvia, Buddy Guy (fresh out of Muddy Waters's touring and recording band, presumably) and many others.
That is one fantastic movie. It mainly focuses on the Dead, and Janis, but Sha-Na-Na is in it, and the Burrito Brothers are there too!
Band of Annuals (Let Me Live) (ND Feb'08+Oct'08)
Here are some great DVD/Americana films that are worth seeking out:

1. Heartworn Highways
2. Neal Casal "Anytime Tomorrow: The Film" included on his 2 CD greatest hits.
3. Mark Olson "Salvation Blues: The Film". You can check out the trailer on youtube or email Hacktone Records and ask them to put it out! It's played at various music festivals and is a beautiful 1/2 hour portrait of songwriter and musician Mark Olson. Oh... I made it.... also the Neal Casal one. OK shameless self promotion... but seriously, if you love Americana they're worth seeking out.

Here's a few from netflix... I love browsing their stuff because you can find a lot you could never find in a box video store... and you can surf organically from musicians to producers to music genres, etc. They also have some rare old tv music and variety shows... fun to check it all out - fill in the gaps a bit.

I did see the Billy Bragg/Wilco dvd and it was okay. I love the albums, but I'm not a huge Woody Gutherie (sp?) aficionado, so a lot of the movie was lost on me. I wish they would have had more live footage too.

I'll definitely check out Down From the Mountain. I'm really surprised by how many Gram Parsons' dvds are out there. Cool, but surprising.
Lubbock Lights, which is on a lot of those musicians who came ftom the scene: Terry Allen, Je Ely, The Flatlanders, several others. The emphasis, wisely, is on Butch Hancock. Patrick Hurley is also featured.
There is some small bits of concert footage, but the camera mostly focuses on interviewing those people in or around that particular place.

Very worthwhile watching, but it helps if you are a faan
sweet - hadn't heard of that one before...
You might want to pick up either of the Lucinda Williams Austin City Limtis DVDs. Return to Sin City - A Tribute to Gram Parsons is also preety good.
Ahh...great suggestions! Thanks!!
If you'd like something really authentic, google Shotgun Party and check out these three young musicians from Austin. They came to Sarasota recently and I was amazed at how good they are.
