It has been a busy summer for us, Adela & Jude. We toured a whole ton, and ended up playing more out of state shows than local shows in the Boston area. We love being on the road, playing new cities, returning to places that we've toured thru and returned back to. Always a blast and we're thankful that we get to travel and play music to people. We're lining up local, ( New England ) shows from now to february ( ok - we also include Brooklyn and Rhode Island and Portland Maine as "local".
We just had a heck of a weekend, the 3 day extravaganza known as the New England Americana Festival took to the streets of Cambridge Mass and held court at various venues while delivering over 50 bands. Adela & Jude played the Friday night festivities at Oberon, overlooking the activities from the balcony. Opening the evening and keeping the music going non-stop between acts on the downstairs stage. We met lots of new friends.
We closed this weekend out playing the Avett Brothers show at the BOA Pavilion, on the side stage and got great reception tons and tons of people. The sold out show was so on a beautiful night and it was an honor to play such a fine show for those guys.
We're finishing up our record at Watch City Studios and could not be happier - some fine players have stopped by to lay down tracks - Mr. JJ Rassler - a Boston Icon in his own right, brought us some C&W twang on "I'm On My Way" and "Shallow Grave". Dave Delaney of the Whiskey Boys came in and gave us some down home fiddling. We've got some other great artists on tap to add a little here and there - we're gonna be setting a release date real soon!
