Event Description

A co-bill that will lift your sweet spirit even higher...

Join Paniolo Productions and CTMS this Saturday night for two very talented and moving singer/songwriters Bill Bourne and Ernest Troost.

About Ernest: http://www.ernesttroost.com/
Ernest Troost is a singer/songwriter and a 2009 New Folk Winner at this year's Kerrville Folk Festival. His evocative songwriting style combines folk and Piedmont blues style guitar picking with timeless stories and colorful character portrayals drawn from the American past and present.
His first solo album, All the Boats Are Gonna Rise, described as what would happen if the Carter Family, Robbie Robertson, and Alfred Hitchcock wrote songs together, has been a hit with critics and fans alike:
"Troost's style and subject matter recall Dylan, Dave Alvin, and (especially for his concentration on life's darker side) Richard Thompson--enviable company indeed. Such comparisons are not lightly made: Every song here is a keeper." --Tom Hyslop, Blues Revue Magazine
Troost is also an award-winning composer of scores for films and television.

About Bill: http://www.billbourne.com/
"Bourne flows with this almost indescribable soul infused with a lonesome strain of blues... This man was put on this earth to play music." - Crossroads Magazine - Tuscon, AZ
Bill loves to collaborate with friends (musicians). His most recent collaboration is with Jasmine Ohlhauser and Wyckham Porteous in the band 'bop ensemble'. Previous to bop, Bill collaborated with Eivør Pálsdóttir from the Faroe Islands. Other collaborations: Alan MacLeod, Shannon Johnson, Hans Staymer and Andreas Schuld, and Lester Quitzau & Madagascar Slim, as well as his solo projects, have all attained award status in Canada.
A multiple Canadian Juno Award winner, Bill has received international acclaim for his recordings and live performances. A mainstay on the international roots scene, life on the road is reflected in Bill's music - powerful rhythms and soulful songs, steeped in World Beat, Blues, Cajun, Celtic, Folk, Flamenco, Funk, Poetry and more...
